The Beacon Ring on a lovely summers evening.

Once again on a beautiful warm summer evening Freya and I found ourselves having a lovely surprise outing with Bryony and Maddi to a local hidden treasure that is The Beacon Ring, which is a man made circular wood built by the Celts to stay hidden from the Romans. It is such a beautiful little place a few miles from Welshpool, being up there really does remind you how beautiful where we live really is. It has beautiful fields, a small wood, picnic area and man made wooden huts built by campers or visitors of the area, which make brilliant places to play and hide.
Freya absolutely loved it up on top of a beautiful hill surrounded by nature and wild life. She was on top of the moon running around, picking grass and pointing at the views.
Maddi and Bryony had bought a lovely little picnic with them for us all to share and Freya was ecstatic she even got to share the cookies that were floating about. Once we had finished our lovely little picnic we headed into the woods to find the wooden huts and the geocach (which is a hidden box which can be found at most hidden treasure places like national trust place and if you find it you take an item from the box and replace it with something you have brought with you. It is such a wonderful game and activity to do whilst out at beautiful places like this one)
After all the fun we needed a sit down and time to relax. We made our way out the wood to the other side and sat down and chatted for a while. Freya had such a ball hiding in the grass and looking at the views. (Oh and trying to catch any bug she saw)
We have all decided we need to have more girls outtings to these beautiful places a lot more often. They cost absolutely nothing and they are filled with fun, especially for Freya and it is such a change from the usual hustle and bustle of lunch in town or shopping.

Tell me your favourite hidden treasures near you.

  2. That looks like such a gorgeous place to go! There's a lovely National Trust Garden near me and it's so beautiful, especially when the sun is setting over the lake, it's the perfect place to spend a summers evening.
